D. Jarrett Collins Jarrett has over two decades
of experience financing and running high-growth organizations. Prior to
starting NeoCarta in 1999, he created and led TTC Ventures, the venture
capital subsidiary of The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters). His
investing career began with Copley Venture Partners in 1989, then detoured to one of Copley's investments, Mulberry Child Care Centers, where he was named CEO. Jarrett led a successful turnaround at Mulberry,
which was later sold to the industry's leading public company, KinderCare.
Since then, Jarrett has backed
two dozen private companies, over half of which have gone
public or been acquired by public companies. He is currently on the
board of Everyday Health, a leading provider of online consumer health
solutions. His previous investments include Audible (IPO, acquired by
Amazon), CareerBuilder (IPO), Financial Engines (IPO), Healtheon (IPO, merged with WebMD), Imaging Automation (now part of L-1), NetGravity
(IPO, now part of Google), Qpass (acquired by Amdocs), and UpShot (bought by Siebel/Oracle). In addition to graduating from
Tufts University with a bachelor's degree in engineering, Jarrett earned
an MBA from the University of Southern California and was selected as
his graduating class's Outstanding Student by the Beta Gamma Sigma honor
society. Jarrett's nonprofit interests include the Tenacre Country Day
School, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees; he is also a Mentor with TechStars.
